Dr. Ian Flint, Ph.D., P. Eng., has been an associate with MineTech since 2010.
Dr. Flint received his honours B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Toronto in 1983, his Bachelors of Applied Science in Geological Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1986, his Masters of Applied Science in Metallurgy from the University of Toronto in 1989, and his Doctorate of Mining and Mineral Processing from the University of British Columbia in 2001. He worked for Cominco Engineering (CESL) from 1989 to 1993 and again in 1998 and 1999 doing column cell design, equipment design and commercialization, sparging, gold processing, liquid liquid extractions and and milling plant design and modifications. From 1993 to 1998 he was an independent mineral processing consultant as well as director of Black Crystal Mining Corp. From 2000 to 2010 he was a member of the Mining Department, Faculty of Engineering at Dalhousie University where he taught mineral processing, equipment selection, costing, risk analysis and mineral economics.
In 2010 Dr. Flint returned to private consulting and has worked on graphite, base metals, gold, iron ore, aluminum, and other projects in terms of circuit design, process development, test work and cost projections.
